KAYAKING, WHITE WATER RAFTING, ZIP-LINING
....OH MY!
After years of spending summer vacations relaxing on the beach, my husband and I have decided it is now time to get 'out of the box'. This summer was it, the time to get started on adventures. First step, kayaking! We actually went kayaking in Florida a couple years prior, but have been considering making the actual purchase of our very own. This year we decided to give it one more test before we make the plunge.
If you enjoy going to Current River, but would love more adventure options but less people, I definitely suggest going to BLUE RIDGE, GA! First for kayaking, it was the Taccoa River. The river was smaller than the Current River, with a bit less current. I was surprised at the cold temperatures this time of year, but fell in love with the clear, crisp water Our kayaking adventure lasted about 3 1/2 hours, and was worth every minute. It was a peaceful beginning to the weekend, little did we know, it was get much more exciting shortly after.
Next up, zip-lining! It was actually quiet peaceful, as we chose the canopy tour, meaning we were in the trees. There was 8 of us total, including our guides, and it seemed at times like we were much higher than we really were. This was especially true when all 8 of us were at times on platforms about 6 ft in diameter. There was something very 'AVATAR' about the experience, and at times I thought it would be neat if zip-lining at night was an option! The only down side, we didn't take our phones to document the experience, but isn't that the point?!?!
Finally, white water rafting!....what an amazing experience. I feel I could write for days about how amazing it was describing each aspect as if I was experiencing a whole new world for the first time. Perhaps maybe another post, another time, but for now I'll keep it sweet.
